The Departed is an excellent movie.

It's been a while since I saw a movie that could surprise me so much with plot twists. And, although it's bloody, grim, and full of profanity, it has a lot of laugh-out-loud humor. The sound track is great, and so is the cinematography. It's shot in the gritty parts of Boston and looks very believable.

This is one of Scorsese's best. Good performances by Leo DiCaprio, whom I normally despise, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, and Jack Nicholson, who plays an outrageously bad guy.

Go see it.
