Our event this weekend is looking like it's going to be a small one.
East Kingdom is holding a big equine practice this weekend and an equine event next weekend, so probably we won't get Easterners.
And the weather is supposed to be cold with lake effect rain and....(cough)snow(cough).
If you do come, dress warmly and bring your umbrella.
I will be cooking warm food--Cornish pasties, soup, Rowan's famous small birds y-stewed, apple tart. Not real period but nourishing and comforting.
We do have a large indoor space with plenty of tables and chairs. And we'll have hot coffee all day. Hey, maybe this could turn into a gaming event!
Also the site is discreetly damp--just pack out your empties.

Mathilde, your humble cook

I've been an LJ slug, so here's my recent highlights:

Our Coppertree event, Jugglers, Tumblers, and Bards, turned out to be a lot of fun. Many people made the trip out to the boonies; there was a lot of fighting, visiting with friends, and fun at dinner. The food was great! Thanks, Duchezz Rowan, for being a fabulous cook!

Since then much of upstate NY is flooded, but not here in Rome. My friend Caradawc is a transplanted Thescorrvian now living in east Coppertree, in a little burg called Dolgeville. Last night, video of the Dolgeville Restaurant washing away into East Canada Creek made the national news. I called and am happy to report that he is dry and safe but unable to leave town as all the roads are closed in Herkimer County.

Further east, another Coppertree dweller, Lady Rowena, posted yesterday that the water was almost up to her house and that people were being evacuated. Haven't heard any news since, so we all have our fingers crossed that her house is OK and that her merchanting stock will survive for Pennsic.

In beautiful southeast Coppertree, Duchess Meirwen reports water rising, roads closed, bridges out, and cellars being pumped.

Let's hope that things dry out enough so that I can get to Warrensburg, NY for the Glenn Linn war practice event this weekend. It's our Sharc Pit 10th anniversary party weekend, and we'll be celebrating by drinking, eating, fighting, fencing, swimming, and schmooozing.
