Good things about the event:

Many shire members and good friends showed up and helped
It didn't rain
People liked the food
The kitchen was nice and warm
People had fun with the horses, hounds & hawks

Bad things about the event:

It was cold, cold, cold
Not many people came--we had around 30
Too much food

I think that our shire will bid on an Aethelmearc Academy for this site for June of next year. It's ideal for equestrian activities and messy classes.

12th night was VERY pleasant. Good event, Hartstone!

My traveling companion, wyz_azz, and I left at 6 am (groan), but we got there in plenty of time to enjoy the day. We were surrounded by good friends, including drd_pyrat, baronsteffan, goodscagirl, jenaiabird, and unadesaintluc. There were gaming, snacks, and presents. The Laurel meeting was surprisingly civilized.

Court was good. Illadore cried when she got a Millrind and a court baronetcy. The feast was OMG fabulous, thanks to talented cook La Duchezz Rowan (yes, wyz_azz, I am sending you the recipe for Small Byrds y-Stewed, ).

The motel was unexpectedly nice, although small and overly mirrored, and many parties ensued. Next day we dodged the ice storms and got back to clovis_point and faithful dog Caillie in one piece.

Next event for me will be 3 Ravens. Hope to see many of you there!
