Today my Breeder's Cup tickets arrived.

Six days until the Breeder's Cup!

I'm flying down to Louisville on Thursday; going to the races at Churchill Downs Friday and Saturday. There are 121 of the world's top Thoroughbreds entered in 8 races on Saturday. It should be terrific! The forecast is for sunny and highs in the fifties.

This weekend the weather sucked, but I was able to pre-celebrate my horsey vacation by seeing the movie Flicka. I don't recommend it unless you are totally into soppy, girl-loves-horse movies. The cowboys are all buff and occasionally shirtless; otherwise, you better have equine love going for you to enjoy this movie. And an endless tolerance for whiny songs about running free with the wild horses.

On the home front, I bought a queen-size bed for the guest room, and am now buying the accessories for same. Looking forward to people crashing for the Shark Pit Christmas party, and maybe the wine country tour.
