Back from horse racing

Great Pyrenees
I had the best time going to California for the Breeders Cup this past weekend. Imagine being with 58,000 people, all of whom decided to have a good time at the races, and you can understand the great party mood that was present at Santa Anita.

A front-row seat with catered lunches and cocktail servers helped, as did the lovely weather, the flowers everywhere, and the San Gabriel Mountains in the background. We had two days of horse racing with some of the best horses in the world. None of the horses fell or broke a leg or had to be destroyed.  And for the Classic, the big finale race, the filly Zenyatta continued her 13-race unbeaten record by finishing ahead of the boys. (The boys included the Kentucky Derby winner, the Belmont winner, the Jockey Club Gold Cup winner, the Travers winner, the winner of the Champion Stakes at Newmarket, etc., etc.).  It was a great moment in horse racing history.

Am I going to the Breeders Cup next year? Well yes!! It's going to be at Churchill Downs and I already have a hotel reservation.

Here are some pictures from this year's races.
